How about a crazy auction chain to raise money for the fire victims in Australia? My thought is that anyone can jump in at any time with an offer of eggs, and the highest bid on that set of eggs that is posted before 24 hours is up is the winner. Aussie Sharon said she would be willing to accept and verify winning funds, and shipping fees would need to be worked out between donor and winner. I never started a chain before. Hope this flies!

I would like to start this chain with an offer of six+ Blue/Black/Splash marans eggs.

(WE ARE LOCATED IN NORCO, CA!)

They are not the darkest, but two of the pullets lay an XL very nice egg and would make good general laying hens. Two lay an orangey brown egg and the two black pullets lay a darker brick color egg usually. The weather has been funny and they have laid some really oddball eggs lately. The genetics is there for a decent seven though. These are clean legged birds of varying sizes and temprements, not show quality. So... that's my starting offer. I may be able to offer some outstanding CBM eggs soon. Cross your fingers.

On your mark, get set, let the bidding begin! Feel free to jump in at any time with any offer of any breed or variety of eggs, Chickens, purebred and mutts, waterfowl, button quail, emu, whatever you got, Let's show the Aussies our BYC spirit!

Winners, PM the person with the eggs to let them know you won. Donors, please state SOLD and the winning bid on your auctions when they finish.

BBS marans eggs won by reghen. Winning bid, $40. Congratulations redhen!

Just for the record, the acution for the BBS marans eggs will end at 2:11 on Thursday afternoon, PST. Thank you both for your bids. I will try to take pics of some of the birds and eggs. I should go right now... okay, I will!

Can I make a suggestion? When someone places a bid, they need to quote or include in their post what offer they are bidding on...if you have lots of people jumping in with offers, it's going to get real confusing real fast as to who is bidding on what!

That's if I'm understanding correctly--it's ok to jump in at any time with offers, we don't have to wait for one auction to end to post another, correct? So this isn't so much a chain, but one collective thread for several different auctions?

I think it could be a good idea to keep one thread w/several auctions going, instead of flooding the BST forum with a bunch of auctions...but I think you need to be careful that it doesn't get too crazy (little bit crazy is good though, crazy is fun

).

I'd love to jump in an make an offer...off to go upload some pictures so I can do that...

ArabiansR2Cool: I think that the shipping is to be worked out between the person offering and the person who wins the bidding. I guess it will depend on if the person offering wants to pay for shipping, or if they want to be reimbursed (above the winning bid amount) for the shipping by the winner. And OT, but I like your user name. Some of my first horses were Arabians...I still have one of my old girls, she's over 20 years old now, but still living proof that Arabians are, in fact, too cool.

That is a great suggestion. All bids, state what eggs you are bidding on. Anyone can start any auction at any time, but they only run 24 hrs. Shipping is extra and to be worked out by donor and buyer. Actual bid amt is to be sent to Aussie Sharon, and after she confirms recieving the $, the eggs may be shipped as agreed upon by donor and buyer. Come on someone, donate some eggs. At least one omelette's worth! Any and all eggs welcome. All acutions are 24 hrs. Eggs with no bids after twenty four hours may be re-listed. Thanks all in advance for participating. Do it for the Aussies! They need our help.

i am sticking with my origional $40 offer earlier in the other thread for the BBS marans...i want to help those poor people...only thing is..i cant accept the eggs now..my bators are full..

you can pick your date on the BBS marans eggs. There will be much more than six. I get usually five or six a day. You can have everything they lay for two days, or three if you want. Thanks SO much for your bid.
