Cream Brabanters-Consider them for your next breed

^^I didn't let them "Roam" for about a week as a larger pen was under construction and I was in and out a lot. I only let them out if I will be home most of the day. So, poor Spike became the pecking post. The other chickens were terrible to him and he is the biggest! I had him locked up for a few days and then let him out. The white leghorns picked at him again. I hope his tail is not permently damaged, but I guess it could be. I want to take him to a show (Not to win but just to expose him to the world) and I don't think I can take him looking like he does now. I hope he grows some feathers before the show. Poor boy.

I love your screen name.

They are not bantams, but large fowl, however they are not a heavy bird. They make the most wonderful cooing noises. They are docile, sweet and very entertaining. Not noisy at all. And the girls have the sweetest little faces. Our cockerel is a sweet boy. I can't say enough about them. All around great birds. Now if only they'd start laying. I am dying to hatch out a few.

Just remember that cream is not a recognized color, but I guess it does not matter really.

And I might sell or trade you mine if you were interested. I am thinking I have too many breeds and would rather have the Jearhons to breed.

Gah the temptations, lol. I would love to have some but I really shouldnt take on any new birds, I have 8 pens of pheasants, 4 pens of waterfowl, 3 pens of wyandotte bantams, and then there are the rest of the birds that belong to the family like sumatras, phoenix, and domestic waterfowl. I would be more tempted if we werent going into winter. Dang pretty birds anyway, lol. I really like the hen(s) in pics 6 and 9, not sure if they are the same bird but they are gorgeous.

Thanks for that link Banter. I hope folks will like the looks and order some in their spring shopping.

I so wish those private breeders would come forward. Have you searched poultry press and the like? I have googled ad nauseum but not looked at any periodicals.
