Cream Legbar Hybrid Thread

the welsummer is the mother... JG would have produced black barred Male.. Dark Cornish would have produced visible lacing patter and much much darker pheomelanin.. EE(out of the question) , BO would have proudced a Columbian restricted Male. Buff lace Polished would have produce a Nearly all white male with different creat pattern. the rest of the possible mothers(Silkies, sussex, ISA borwn) are just not going to produce such a wiltype looking male...

I waited a long time to see they evidence grow but now it's clear nicalandia was right and i was wrong. I didn't hatch very many of my CL x Barred Cochin. The two males had a well defined large head spot. 1 cream legbar colored chipmunk pattern and 1 black looking like a barred Cochin. Of the two females the cream legbar colored chipmunk pattern female had no head spot. the chick that was born black looking like a barred cochin had a very faint and non defined head spot. I thought this was a male due to head spot. But nicalandia was right about some females may still get faint head spots like the extended black sex links and our cream legbar females. It had the faint head spot and turned out to be a female

what about a male wheaten ameraucana and a female cream legbar

that would produce an identical looking male(single barred crele duckwing) you see e+/eWh males look the same as e+/e+ males, and eb/eb also look the same as e+/eb male, and eWh/eWh males also look very similar, the difference would be on the females... while most e+/eWh and e+/eb females look very similar to pure e+/e+ females

I am a walking chicken calculator..... if anything I am good with genetic formulas and theories.. most of the time they come out right, but sometimes nature has its way and throws a curb ball to all of us...

The CL X CP bread back to CP (BC1) Chicks are a week old now. It looks like I can already see the boys by their combs....

Do you only have one chipmunk pattern chick in there? Or is there 2? Are you noticing if the down color is showing any signs to gender. With this cross my guess is no, but I was curious.
