Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

Thoughts on these 13 week old ladies? Let me have it im a big boy, these are my first cream legbars know idea if they're worthy of offspring
I like them. They are light, but I like where they are. I really like the one on the left, there's been lots of discussion about hens with light versus dark crests, and most of us are prefer the lighter crests. Not to say the darker crests are bad, still an evolving conversation, but most of us so far.

Well, and remember I am hard on my own birds too, the hackles have those black feathers. Not good and a bear to get rid of. I have dealt with them.

Those appear to be Gold Crele legbars and not cream.

I don’t dislike dark crests but the lighter cream is the preferred

They are too young to tell much about the body type. The wings appear a tad short, but that is most likely just their age.

Hopefully, the crests will stop growing soon. Although I prefer the large crests, the SOP does not.

The keels should fill out good, however, they appear to be heavy in the rear. Barring is adequate on the undercarriage.

Time will tell.

Good luck and enjoy them, no matter what they look like.

Here are two of my cockerels for this year. They have a few problems with comb shape, but overall they won out over their brothers. My cockerels and cocks are nearly always gold crele, but I'm pretty sure I have cream/gold crele cockerels among this year's, hopefully.

I've worked on the comb crest balance a lot here, I think you can see it. I still have wierd points show up often enough to be annoying. The back part of the cockerel on the left blade of his comb got bit off in a squabble. That and it hit -10 in October this year so that was a thing that happened early. Oh well, at least you can still see they are at least straight and crested, barring is excellent, wedge shape, good chest depth... Could tuck wings better for pick if they weren't gawking at me making wierd noises in order to get them to look where I wanted but hopefully they tuck up when I'm not harrassing them. Mostly bred out the occasional white main tail feathers, so I'm glad that's gone. Overall, again I've made good progress on them.

Could I get an opinion on this rooster? Give it to me straight, he was an A-hole, so I rehomed him to a guy who didn't have kids and needed a great rooster (he was Fantastic with the hens). I have his daughter in my flock as my only CLB hen right now, and I will be breeding her with my only CCLB rooster (completely unrelated to either my hen or the guy in this photo). What can you tell me about MR. A-hole below?

I can’t tell from that picture. Looks sorta ok.

color problems but not bad. Did he have a crest? Comb is straight.

Sorry that is the only photo I could find. Brooster (above) did not have a crest, nor does his daughter Lovey (my hen). But my CCLB has one (medium sized?) and so far has given it to ALL of his progeny. (I just hatched 30 olive Eggers/Easter Eggers using him). Is this normal? I thought only half would get it.

The white main tail feathers and the lack of crest are his negatives. He is gold crele, like my guys are. His hackle and saddle don't match, mine often don't either. I like his body shape, his leg color, nice straight combs, wattles, earlobes are good color and hang freely. Overall he is workable with the right hen, using one unrelated to him who doesn't carry white maintail feathers and has a good sized crest.
