Must be getting some of your good luck. I have 10 pullets so far. Last two hatches were 5 and then 2 girls and no boys...  watch those be the only 2 tolbunts that hatched 

Yes, girls! and the Tolbunt issue should be solved soon! I do my enabling job very well!

Had a pullet egg today from the second GFF laying group.

17 GFF girls should be laying by the end of the month.
I'm super excited to have Blackbirds13 help me pick out a breeding group from them in a few weeks. Pretty soon I'll be overflowing with blue eggies!

Bravo!! There is nothing like that first egg from the pullet. Congratulations. Blackbirds13 is a good choice for someone to advise you. You are going to be overflowing with those eggs!!!

Hi all. Sorry about the shouting earlier with Steen trying to reach me, but it seems to have worked! He was quite generous and out of the blue gave me 9 extra eggies (plus 3 Ameraucanas) that didn't make it in to his incubator so I get to start my Cream Legbar adventure months earlier than expected (I have eggs on order from Papa Brooder to coincide with a Broody who simply must cooperate).

It was meant to be because I was able to coordinate with him to get eggs while visiting my family in Albuquerque, called a lady a know and she is lending me her incubator with turner and I made it through TSA with only a minor delay (strangely they felt compelled to pat me down and rummage/swab my carry-on and purse even though all of thatand me made it through the x-rays a-ok, but I'm not complaining because they let me keep the eggs

).

A BIG Thank You to Steen for his generosity! I have been wanting Cream Legbars for so long. I am so excited!

Every time I go through security they pat down my hair. It is thick and usually in a braid, maybe it looks like I could hide a weapon in there.

Yeah, I put the carton in a shoe box padded with cloths then put that in my carry on. Took out the carton and asked them nicely if they could hand inspect. Wasn't sure what would happen since I didn't prep in advance for it.

The TSA ladies who did the very thorough search were cheerful, said it was a first and said I should write them and let them know if they hatch! 'Are there baby chicks I there?' 'Are those really chicken eggs-they are so pretty, I didn't know they came in that color' etc...very chatty!

Man, every time? Seems like they aren't equipped for out of the ordinary passengers. My hubby is 6'8 and he has to scootch down and bend his legs spread wide to fit in their new X-ray machine. One just has to maintain a sense of humor when traveling :/

Know what? You are going to start a trend... now all of us will be trying to bring eggs with us on planes........ HA -- I suppose you risk loosing the eggs for confiscation depending on the TSC and the airport that you use..... But you may have opened a door for fertile egg travel in the USA. Good job.

Its really a crap shoot on who you get going through TSA. These two TSA agents decided to pat me down and go through my purse and carry-on and shoes. Swabbed everything, even their gloves after I was patted down; even though I went through the xrays and all my stuff went through the xray machine. The only thing I requested for hand inspection was the carton containing the 12 fertile eggs. I think they either misunderstood the request or are new.

They explained that the eggs contained liquid and since they can't open them to check the contents they were being thorough.

I'm thinking 'Sure honey--you can inspect whatever you want as long as I get to keep my eggies'. Of course I did not rock the boat and say anything that could be misinterpreted as difficult. Now it should be pretty obvious that the eggs are sealed and therefore can't contain contraband, not to mention that each egg weighs 45-55 grams which is well under the 3 ounce liquid limit for containers on carry-ons. Plus I had already made it through the xrays which they trust on everyone/thing else. But I got the eggs so it was worth it.

From this experience I would recommend that you allow about 15 extra minutes to your travel time to allow for a pat-down swabbing just in case you get someone that has never seen fertile eggs and is extra-careful about their searching!
