Thanks 1muttsfan, you are a rockstar! This is excellent information.

So when you say not to count points on the blade, I am still a wee confused. Some roos have smaller points on the blade. Ok don't count those, check. But what about points that are becoming separated from that blade but not as distinct as a fully separated point? Take as an example the second photo down on the examples that GaryDean26 so kindly put up (thanks for that GaryDean26--it was most helpful!). That roo has a point semi-attached to the blade. GD26 counted it as a point but after looking at the information you provided, it makes me think that because it is mostly attached to the blade it would not count as a true point. Now I am really confused.

Any thoughts on this 'point' from the peanut gallery?
 
Im new to byc and really would love to get my hands on a trio or quad of started cream legbars. I've had some horrid luck with shipped eggs and im sure its not my incubators since all of my personal chickens eggs are hatching fine. so if anyone has some advice on shipped eggs and how they need to be packaged or shipping procedures i should try. other than that I've been trying to find local vendors that are close enough for me to drive to. PLEASE HELP ME FIND SOME BIRDS AND EGGS. my kids and i really do enjoy the hatching of the eggs. candling etc. again thanks on advance for yalls help..........Kent n Texas

What part of TX are you in? I just so happen to have a bunch of members nearby who might be able to help. Since most of them sell eggs, would you be willing to have someone hatch and start chicks for you?

For shipped eggs I've had some luck with letting them sit for 24 hours to acclimate to temp. Then, incubate still (air sac up) to allow the egg to heal for 7 days. Then start turning until lockdown. Humidity can be everything as well. My last hatch failed largely because my humidity was way too high the whole time. Rinda, who lives in your state, told me that she gets great results dry hatching and not letting the humidity go over 40% during lockdown. Best wishes on your future Cream Legbars!
