I have one like this but about 1/3 of the amount of green. I almost thought it had gone away. When you posted about this the first time she was broody and never got off the nest. She came out for treats and i noticed she does still have it.

Edit. she is a non crested gold hen. Not sure if only the non crested gold hens get it or if its in all the CCL blood lines. .

It can't be only the non-crested golds. My girl has a crest (not overly large, but definitely crested), and while she isn't the creamiest, the more I look at her the more I'm not sure that she is gold either. In person she is definitely lighter than what I see others terming gold on here...

Also, it's not just the girls... I got to really looking at my younger roo yesterday. He has the smallest dot of green showing on the back of his left shank. Almost like a birthmark. So disappointing...

If this is already in your stock i would think you could breed a generation or two before you really try to weed it out of the gene pool if you really like your roo. The hen i have with this is not really needed for breeding. But maybe its worth seeing what your roo passes and doesn't pass along. Who knows how many chicks he will pass it on to. And what about other flock mates with the same blood who are not showing it, do they still carry it and can they pass it along. hopefully someone who knows can tell us.
 
Anyone else have a rooster going through a funny looking stage? Grey is growing his sickles back in after a summer molt...and I giggle every time I see him. It's like he got a summer haircut or something
