Cream Legbars

I think that is a good plan, probably what I would do. Good luck!
Thank you!

I'm raring to get started, but have to wait until we get our barn built. The contractor was out last week and said it probably won't be until early spring.

Since we butchered our layer flock's rooster today, we thought about integrating the CL rejects soon.

Quote: Two questions

1. if this is the correct interpretation for the Cream Legbar SOP - where is there any value-added for Cream? Why would someone not just breed a crested sliver legbar that lays a blue egg?
2. If there is no visible difference between cream and silver then how did Punnett identify Cream in the first place?

I answered on the other thread K. btw thanks for all of your help and encouragement with Goose (named thus since he's our "wing man" now

). He's healing well, and while that flap of skin will never grow back it looks like he will still be able to flap the wing (just not fly).

My hen's colors are all over the place. But here is one that looks promising...sorry for the not so top quality pix

Her hackles are a lot more silver than what is shown her and her breast is a soft cream. No chestnut or red anywhere.

So glad to hear he is O.K. Perhaps, he won't need to fly. (And you'll never need to clip his wings.) BTW- the bone spur that I thought of taking Gracie to the vet for, disappeared or was absorbed in her body as she grew...maybe nature will adapt the skin flap for Goose. Thanks or the update. :O)

Hi Diane,
on my monitor the breast feathers look a little pink or peach - did you mean cream?

Her chest should be salmon. I see some salmon, I like to see more salmon on the females but hers is decent. But her hackles are definitely not gold!
