Cream Legbars

They look good as far as I can tell, but it was wet and rainy here today so not very easy to look everyone over. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. I am going to try to take some time tomorrow and go out and handle everyone well to see if anyone else seems under the weather. I had just started really getting attached to her thinking surely my batch is old enough to make it barring a hawk or something! Certainly did not expect this. :(

Hi, I just saw this post. I am thinking of ordering Cream Legbar eggs and Isbar eggs from Jordon Farms. Are you happy with your hatch rate and the quality of the birds from Jordan? Are the Cream Legbars laying blue eggs? What shade of green are the Isbar laying?

So sorry about Hattie. Why is it always the favorites?

I just bought a cream legbar for $50. A girl in KS is selling them if anyone is looking. She is selling a rooster and hen for $50 and they're about 2-3 mo old right now.

Hi rarebear, sent you a PM.

The cream legbar eggs I have received from Jordan Farm were large and a nice shade of blue.

Here are the eggs some of our Isbars hatched from:

I'd say the color in this photo is pretty accurate. They were more mint green than I expected, I think I was thinking more of a mossy green. I love the "specklies" some of them have.

lonnyandrinda, I am sorry to see that you lost Hattie. Some people are loosing more than their share of birds.

I love the color on Pretty Boy and the Brother of Pretty Boy. I am getting lots of color on the saddles of all of my boys and lots of chestnut on the shoulders. The pico pollos cockerels look like they will keep the dilute colors on the saddles and the faint color on the shoulders. And they have the good combs and tail angles to go with it. Very nice! I am getting goo tail angles and combs, but color still looks gold.

My Isbars from Richard lay a greenish/yellow egg and although I do not have my own CLB eggs yet....the ones I just got from him 2 wks ago were that pretty sky blue color.

I'm hoping so. I picked up the parent flock to mine this weekend, and I have to say the rooster leaves a lot to be desired IMO. He does have a great big straight comb going for him, but more red than I'd hoped and a squirrel tail. Not complaining, just observing what I know I'm going to have to work on. Hopefully my cockerels keep their nice tail angle and my only major problem will be the coloring! Poor thing already had frostbite on his comb when I got him, and last night was 12 degrees and tonight is 11 degrees so he may lose a lot of his points but there isn't a lot I can do about it. :( My FBCM rooster will have frostbite too, I noticed his comb points look tatty and bloody today. :( Their coop is not very well built as it was a make-shift "for now" that we slapped together this summer and now are being pressed to use. The birds in our nicer split coop seemed to have fared better, plus there are a lot more of them for warmth.
