Cream Legbars

Why is my roo walking so funny? He kind of looks like he's goose stepping.

Has he always walked like this or is this a new thing? I haven't seen this before but if he has always done it my guess would be he has a neurological issue or maybe he suffered a head injury.

If this is recent, have you checked to see he doesn't have something tangled on his feet of legs causing him discomfort?

WOW 9 weeks, hes anxious to start lol.

My Rees are going on 6months old. He has been trying to mate them for a little while now with no success as the girls just would not have it. Until recently he finally able to get them. S far I like the Rees. The male looks slightly different than my male in body type, color, head shape and size but I think it is workable. The cockerels crest is ok but the comb doesnt extend toward the back of the head so the entire back of the comb flops over. And the pullets are coming along nicely both with decent type and the coloring is ok though one is better than the other. The pullets look similar to my pullets here.

As far as personality they are good so far not overly sweet but not timid. And the cockerel seems a little protective of his girls but hes not too worried to be aggressive. I am happy with them so far and so excited to start hatching from them.

edited to add- his crowing isn't terrible. He didn't start too young, only about a month ago so he is still finding his voice he doesn't over crow nor is it too loud. My other CL cockerel oh boy does he have a high pitched loud crow and he just goes and goes lol. I hope the Rees boy stays the way he is, which isn't too noticeable.

My Rees pullets

Hi, thanks for posting your rees boy. It's amazing to see so little red enhancement on his wings etc.
He sure looks solid! Have you been tracking his weight?
Do you think he was standing more upright when you took his picture? Does his back look more level sometimes?
How does the leg color compare to other CLBs in your experience?

A friend of mine described a similar thing in one of her cockerels (though I did not see it). Fortunately it just went away and now his gait is normal again.
Hey Phage,

Very cool avatar. Didn't even know about the 24-hour auctions. Nice to see the big picture of that hen at the beginning of the auction thread.

Puss58 - Please update us when the behavior goes away. Has that cockerel been relocated recently or kept in a smaller than usual pen? Seems like the first Isbars I got were doing a 'goose step' especially a large cockerel - for a few days after he was transported...his accompanying hens too but not as noticably - and the behavior went away as Phage mentioned. Because those were my firsts Isbars, I had thought maybe it was a breed trait -- but it seems as I remember back that it did last a couple of months. Should you find out more about it - please let us know. Thnx

He might be a little more upright than usual but that s pretty close to his stance. His back angle is too sloped and his wings are carried a little lower than I would like. They aren't perfect but with having only a trio of the Rees Im working with what I have. The Rees line did seem to have very pale yellow/whitish legs when they were young, I was concerned about that but as they mature they are getting a better yellow tone to the legs.

Unfortunately I do not have a scale so I have never weighed any of my CL. Maybe Santa will bring me one for Christmas

Sorry to interrupt the conversation, but I figured I should give a quick update on Knoxville. My CLs were the only ones there. The Rees pullet won BB, with my k from Maria winning RB. I'll try to edit some more pics later, but here are a couple.

Between the kids and junior events I failed miserably in my quest to get judges feedback, but I'll try again next time and I've already contacted some for online feedback. We also had this little distraction with our little "Lady"...
