Cream Legbars

My pullet seems to have stopped laying this week. She has only really been a 3 egg a week layer for me but this week Ive only got 1 so far and its been 3 days with no egg,

I dusted them on Saturday do you think that might have done something?

Its been a pretty slow week for the whole flock too. 5-6 out of 10 birds laying. Will heat effect them too because it was getting up there before it cooled off the last 2 days,

I dont really want to worm them right now in spring but maybe I should.

Could it be that they were frightened when you dusted them? Sometimes, when a chicken is stressed, they stop laying for a short time.

36 Cream Legbar eggs are in lockdown on day 20, where is a nervous nail biting emoticon when I need one.

Eggs are due to start hatching tomorrow. 15eggs are from my CL flock and 21eggs from my Rees Line trio . Getting excited cant wait to see some chicks. All chicks will be banded after hatch to keep lines separate.

I have 3 CL eggs that are suppose to hatch today. One pipped last night but no further movement. One I think is bad. the other looked good but action as of this morning..

I am now 60 miles from my eggs performing Grandpa Daycare services. Hopefully I will get home to new baby CL's. I have 9 EE that hatched yesterday!! ( I hatched the EE so the CL would have playmates.

She may just be having an off week. It could be weather related. I suppose dusting her could have upset her but if you handle them somewhat on occasion then dusting her I doubt would be an issue.

If she doesn't pick up in about a week you could consider worming her I think Spring and Fall are typical times to do worming so April I think would be alright.

I hope you have a good hatch and come home to some new CL chicks and congrats on the EE chicks too!

I woke up to 5 pipped Jill Rees Cream Legbar eggs! I set 40 eggs. I'm anxious to see how many have hatched by the time I get home after work! Exciting!!!
