Cream Legbars

The old line was imported with egg laying ability in mind, it appears that from their research GFF felt that a blue egg laying chicken couldn't really compete with Ameraucanas or EEs already in the US if they didn't lay well. But there was immediately a bit of an outcry that the US also wants birds that can meet a standard- the most natural one to use is the one in place in the UK. Those first few lines did not conform very well to the UK standard color-wise. So they imported another line of Cream Legbars (which is a lengthy and expensive process that requires quite a lot of work from both the sellers and the buyers). As far as how the new line will lay, no one knows, but it is supposed to be much more in line with the UK standard for Cream Legbars color-wise.

Thanks!

I should have 4 females and a roo all of 3 weeks of age come Wednesday. A pair of rhodebars arriving sometime. 11 1/2 more hours to wait and see how bidding goes on pair of bielefelders.

My roo from last August. He's got very little color to him, just a bit of auto-somal red. I have a couple of 3rd line boys and girls I'm growing out now. I'm excited to see how they turn out.

I have two roosters. One is larger with more color and is more confident. Which is more desirable

They both have some pluses. The first has a better back and breast, the second better coloring and tail. Getting a tail with lesser sickles that fill in the gap between the top ones and the lower hackle feathers has been hard to find.
