Cream Legbars

My entire property is a fire ant farm.

Mine is a haven for spiders. Going out to the pens at night to check on things is a 'carry the broom' endeavor. I recently learned that spiders can be very dangerous when you run into a web face first, in the dark, and then in your extreme hurry to escape the web you step across a board and trip and fall on your knees in the dark onto those spikey thingies that fall off the sweet gum tree, and you are wearing your summer PJs and flip flops. The ants play second fiddle to our spiders.

My husband has an affinity for ants, but we don't seem to have fire ants (hallelujah),
He is convinced that their network underlies our entire property. They also find their way into the house to build nests in electrical devices i.e. anything to do with computers.

I have a strange-ish question. How tall do adult CL hens get? I ask because I am mounting a nipple waterer system in their coop, and they are still kind of little (relatively) right now. I want to make sure that what I have in mind will have enough clearance once they're adults (the run is 30" high on the shortest side).

Just measured one -- a smallish to medium - and she was standing about 16" tall -- not stretched. HTH
