a couple of my chicks died from breathing problems, what can I do so they don't all get sick?
If you didn't hatch the chicks, it might be a good idea to check with the breeder to see if they have any known problems.

Ant farm -- very cool update and photos -- I get a kick out of Jenny's face stuffing and the grub-worm battle! Thanks for posting.A few updated photos of my CL girls at 5 and 6 weeks, including Paula the crowing pullet (who is a photo hog - I had a hard time getting her not to photobomb her sisters...). Jenny (the smallest) battled Paula (one week older and biggest) in a FIERCE tug of war over a great big fat grub today. They tugged this thing back and forth like you wouldn't believe - I thought they would pull it in half. Jenny won - she's scrappy (and one does NOT mess with her food!!!)
Clarissa (Lissa) on the left, Paula on the right, Jenny in the back stuffing her face (as usual).
Paula on the left, Lissa on the right, and once again, Jenny's down in front stuffing her face...
Lissa again - she's going to have an AWESOME hairdo!
I finally caught Jenny coming up for air - Lissa in back, Jenny in front.
Jenny on her own. She flies like nobody's business. Multiple escapes from the brooder within milliseconds of taking the screen off the top.
It's neat to watch them leave the awkward "fuzzy baby dinosaur" stage and start to finally look like chickens...
