Cream Legbars

So what would you expect to get from a Maran's Roo x CL hen that would be sexable at hatch?

If you used a Black Copper Marans that cross will produce Black Sexlinks. Males will hatch black with a white head spot females will hatch black with no head spot..

Here are some picts of my poor little ugly guys: Everyone has open mouth and panting ...and today it is 109 with heat idex of 123 according to my weather station. The guy on the far right looks so gawky and awkward..and he had a brother of the same parentage that I grew out. I was making fun of the legginess -- and yet that brother was one who made the weights according to SOP -- he is a bit larger than the other two there who have diffeent parentage (same rooster, different hens)--- So that leggy appearance at this age -- for my flock means that he would probably pass the cockerel 6-pounds of the SOP -- but he probably will be butchered next week. Here's a hot hen running past...this is 'Lady Spurs' as Dr. ETD once called her - she is mother of the two smaller cockerels. Real name "Me(d)Cre" - she has really bleached her crest this summer... ...and here is another hot pullet - She is back there panting behind my panting Isbar in foreground...but you can see she has nice salmon going on. She is 3/4 Robin's genetics.......
Awww Med(e)cre is so pretty! Do you have a pic of Show Team 2 you can share? That's what my sweet little girl came out of. :)

They are in an Eglu Classic -- so they get tractored around -- but don't associate with the other chickens. I have to say that both of these are laying and the egg color is good IMO -- our heat the other day was brutal !! These are just quick snaps. The female in front is the one that got Best of Breed and Best of Variety in the show she was in last December. They are baout 17-months old.

Sorry such poor photos.

lol it would be a little longer for me,
Williams lake BC
. You're both welcome to visit the farm in Monson. I usually have a summer's end bbq with overnight quarters and great chicken. Lol.

I am really enjoying watching this flock grow. Many of them like to be held. There are three different color shades in the group of this GFF Jill Rees line. Chestnut, grey and blonde.
