Argh! I'm so sorry! Next time consider asking the seller to write "LIVE EMBRYOS" on the box. You wouldn't believe how much more careful my post office was when they got that one.

I am going to get a resend in the fall. After my incubator gets an overhaul and a surge protector.Carol,
Was that all you got from your shipped eggs.....wow, we must have had the same PO carrier!
Ooh.. CountryFriedChicken are these the eggs from me? I hope they hatch! Give them a day or two yet!![]()
I finally got my CL eggs in the mail, sent on Saturday, arrived late Wed.......had written all over on the box, "leave at PO, call for pickup".....so they stuffed it in my mailbox -sideways and as a bonus looks like a shoeprint on one edge with the corner smashed and several cracked eggs.
Additional question: is there a barrier below ground as well? If so, how did you construct it?
I have an "apron" of hardware cloth about 1 foot to 18inches out from the base of my runs to prevent digging.
my dirt is hard with allot of clay also. all the tiny rocks in the top foot of dirt packed in make for really hard ground. i dont think that matters when a dog wants to digAfter reading so many people's accounts about sandy areas and digging under fences, I have never before felt so fortunate to have the hard clay we have around here! I do have 3/4 inch fencing on the bottom of the pens to deter snakes and weasels, but don't have to generally worry about dogs or fox digging deep enough into our dirt to cause harm!
