Cream Legbars

Aloha kakou,

I have a question. I know that we can sex the cream legbars at birth but will we still be able to tell the sex a week later? A month later?

mahalo, Puhi

Yes, they stay different their whole lives. Cockerals get grayer and grayer with more defined barring. Pullets end up looking a lot like brown leghorns, but with a fuller body, crest, and hopefully cream hackles and gray body colors( instead of gold and brown).

And some boys at 1 week:

And a boy and two girls (three if you include the one in the far background) at 4 weeks:

Hope the hatch goes good- those eggs had a LONG ways to go on their trip!

ETA: just had to look that up. Those little babies went 3,800 miles to get from me to you! Phew!

Good afternoon I know this has probably been asked and answered on here but I can not find it. At what age do CCL start laying I 3 females and 1 male that are 18 weeks old, I have them in a pen with other breeds right now and they free range during the day if they are getting close to laying I want to put them in a pen by there selves. Anyone have a approximate time frame. Thanks

They seem to lay about 24-ish weeks, give or take a week or two. You are probably OK for now.

How is your little girl from me (and the others)? I'm still amazed from one extra egg you got a girl! Lucky!
