Cream Legbars

Ok, thank you. Is the extreme lack of colour favoured over the yellow/cream I'm describing?

I like the yellow cream also. One of my roos has it in his saddle hackles but his neck is silver cream, i wish his neck was the same yellow cream. Its really sad the small crest maid his comb flop

I said I was fond of the Lemon Crele color, which is a very bright Lemon/yellow color. that contrast between birght lemon and darker under boddy barring is nice.... BUT the Cream Creasted Legbar should not be bright lemon or even yellow, it just not possible with the genetics that its under, Bight yellow/Lemon has different genetics .. the Cream Creasted Legbar is not a Bright Lemon Crele looking bird and it should not aim to be one, The Cream Creasted Legbar is a bird that looks like nothing else on this planet, I like the Silverish with some chestnut look to it, I know I'm not looking a a normal looking bird.. here is what a Birght Lemon Crele Looking bird looks like and while I like the color, I just dont see it on a CCL, or on the SOP

This guy is one of my top choices for a keeper. He is about 12 - 14 weeks. Very little chestnut, no real signs of yellow in the saddle, has gray barring throughout, tail angle looks promising, good yellow legs, crested. But his crest is HUGE and his comb will be crooked but he may make the cut.

This is my oldest boy. He is about 16 1/2 weeks. His saddle is a bit yellow but little color elsewhere. Straight comb but with a twist on the front. Nice size and tail angle and leg color. Crowed for the first time this morning.

This is option number 3 but his tail has been pecked off. Life is hard in the all boy pen and the eldest Jubilee boy is brutal on the younger ones but destined for the soup pot as I've had no takers on craigslist.

and number 4. He carries his tail super low. His saddle is just a smudge of cream but hard to discern. I like his personality so we'll see.

It was getting dark and I forgot to adjust the ISO on the camera so the images are a bit underexposed. I have 5 or so that are way to young to make any decisions on yet but going to have to make some decisions on these older boys soon.

But these are my 3 favorite boys so far.

Looking Great M! I love the dark chest on your oldest boy! I can not wait to see how the first boy turns out too!

Thanks. I have to make some this weekend to clear up space so i can watch them grow out. They are all actually lighter looking than they appear here. the photos are just a bit underexposed. I needed to bump the ISO up or open the aperture but i spaced. I use my camera on manual and not automatic so it cannot make the adjustments for darker lighting on its own. These 3 boys are lighter than my older two boys which I am happy about as I am hoping for some lighter barring. I have some that are darker like their sires. I'll try taking photos when it's sunny this weekend as I want some better ones to post on the web. Just need to decide on what fault I want to live with. Would love to be able to keep 3-4 over winter but the husband is not a fan of the 4:30 crowing.
