Cream Legbars

So far this season, my hatching has gone very well.

  • Feb 28 - 5 CLBs including one cockerel, two pullets, one white sport cockerel and one white sport pullet. (white sport pullet passed on 4 days later)
  • March 8 - 4 CLBs including 3 pullets and one white sport pullet
  • March 17 - 6 CLBs including 4 cockerels and 2 pullets - one of these cockerels is very light colored but not a white sport. Pictures later!

Have eleven more in the incubator.

Our first Cream chicks hatch next Tuesday, and I can't wait! Do you think those super light males are good, or bad? I'm still trying to figure out which down is preferable.

Im not sure about the super light male chicks. I have 2 males that are very light chipmunk with a white head splotch and then the super blonde male you cant see it well in the pics but he does have very faint chipmunk marks on his back and a white head splotch.

I really wish I had chick leg bands or tiny zip ties. I might need to get some tomorrow so can keep track of them.

I don't think there is much consensus on down color yet, except cinnamon tinted males are almost always too colorful. Keep them and grow them out, and share pictures!

You can find the small colored zip ties at most any hardware store.

My first hatch is complete. I also have 6 more CL in the hatcher on day 19.

5 chicks hatched out of 6 eggs.
3cockerals / 2pullets

the Male chick on the Left looks very weird for a CL chick, I know they come in different shades(light and dark) but this chick has a weird look to it, I cant put my finger on whats genetically going on with him
