I won a contest on Facebook and received a CL trio. The Roo ended up being rumpless and now one of the females just laid a cream colored egg. Talk about disappointed. Still appreciative of contest and generosity but really really wanted and was hoping for a good strong CL line.

Does anyone breed rumpless CLs?

Someone posted a picture of her rumpless ccl rooster a couple of weeks ago. The rumpless gene shows up occassionally in a lot of breeds.

there may be a rumpless CL gene in Texas as I also hatched a rumpless CL Roo that originated in Texas.

Knock it off you guys! you will give texas CLs a bad name -- No, seriously now, I'm really sorry that you didn't get the full package.

This is the first I have heard of rumpless -- so Applegarth in 1987 bred to Araucana - UK has both rumped and rumpless varieties, I really doubt that a gene could be recessive and carried forward for 17-years. Hey genetics experts - is that possible?

ETA falling asleep lastnight and realized that I did the math wrong... duh '87, 97,07, +7 +27-years not 17.... too lazy to get up lastnight and change it.
