Cream Legbars

I want to go but Mike the guy who I would be traveling with decided to not go and with it as cold as it is around here I probably will not go. My neighbor has probably had it with me taking off when it is good weather and while I am gone it goes to 5-10 degrees. I was kind off hoping to find a Jill Reese male. Not that I need another male I have four now with 24 pullets. I have them all set up to go into individual pens by their toe punch and zip tie colors.

I can appreciate how difficult it is to make sure things are covered when you're gone, never mind weather and other travel related complications. Let me know if you want any specific info from the show. So far it's still on my schedule...

I try to make it to the Lebanon Indiana Show. The county Fair in a neighboring county is almost as good as a poultry show so we try to make it there too.
Then there are a couple smaller instate shows that I have attended. They are nice but my attendence depends on children's health as well as weather.
There is a show in Ohio that I would like to get to as well as maybe KY and TN. BUT I'll not be making it this year or next.

Sol2go, I will definitely let you know when I can make it to your side of the country! If anyone else plans on TN next winter maybe we can have a little Legbar get together!

Thanks for the info, I'll have to look those up. Sounds like you do cover some area when you are able to!
Makes me think of a nice long road trip =)

Hi, BYC friends! I've been enjoying this thread, viewing the photos of your pretty Cream Legbars for awhile now.

I hatched some Cream Legbars last weekend. I sold them all except one male...and I am keeping him.

His name is Lannister, and he is such a little terd. He's always pushing the other chicks away from the food bowl and pecking their beaks if there is food on them. I try, in my best Chickenese, to explain to him that he will one day be at the mercy of six big bossy hens...and that crap wont fly with them.

Hopefully he will be much nicer to his ladies :D

Poor Mr. Randall ( Frank).

Frank looks to be doing better than my two...main guy lost all his points last year and has more frostbite this year....junior's points are all 1/2 black and he is shaking his head a bit...fortunately my weather is 'softening' for a bit and both will get some healing time in....

Do you happen to take before during and after pics of the frostbite process?

I feel awful for my males, and the CL males always get it the worst. This year my poor boy has severe frostbite on his comb, he will end up losing the entire comb this winter and will be dubbed by nature, he also has some major frostbite going on on his wattles. I have never dealt with frostbitten wattles so I am not sure what to expect. My Rees male also has frostbite on his comb and wattles.

I have already recently posted him but here he is again, picture taken today
