Cream Legbars

My bet is Isbar.

My thought is that they come into lay just a bit earlier than CL - and they have a greener egg. Game cam could help--- there are other methods too--- Best is if you an find her in the act -- or exiting the nest as the only one doing so - and the egg is still warm.

Good luck solving it -- I bet within the next 2-3 weeks you will get a more blue colored pullet bullet.

My CL cock lost the dead part of his frost bitten wattles, about half the length of the wattles are missing. Strangely it doesn't look bad, now just waiting for his top half of his comb to fall off

Poor boy.

Glad it doesn't look bad chicken pickin -- because he is really a pretty one. I'd like to breed toward smaller comb and wattles personally.

I think I would like to as well. Mainly because of the winters we get, I don't want to watch all of my CL cock birds go through getting frostbite each year:(

Since we are on the topic of wattles. At what age do you all cull or plan to cull a bird or birds that seem to have uneven wattle development? Is that something that we can know from early on or do we need to wait til they reach full maturity to see if they even out?

I will be interested to hear what folks have to say....I'm not that refined as yet with mine.

Hello everyone! I am new to BYC but wanted to say hello. I hatched out 13 CL eggs this past fall and got 7 roos and 6 hens. The eggs were from CLs that were from the Greenfire Farms 2010 import.

The chicks are now 16 weeks old. I think I would like to keep 3 roosters (to be with the CL hens but also with my current layers), but I am not sure how to choose the keepers. Fastest growing? Color? Correct comb?

Any advice would be appreciated.
