I set 5 CCL 2 days ago, any advice on how to sex them at hatching...or where I can find good information on that would be greatly appreciated!
Male and female should be quite distinguishable. Females should have very distinct well defined chipmunk markings and a very defined eyeliner stripe(females can have a tiny head spot at hatch)
Males have a more fuzzy chipmunk appearance, less defined and the down is often tinged grayish or charcoal they lack eyeliner or have undefined eyeliner, also males should have a large head spot. I hope that helps. Im sure someone will throw in a few things I may have missed.

Here are a few examples

How big are your eggs? My CLs hatched in September have been laying about a month and their eggs are still pretty small. 43g or so.

I have one girl that lay eggs roughly the same weight as yours, but on the whole my hens lay eggs that are in the region of 60g of so :)

This is not the norm by any means. My 24-week old produced this egg yesterday:

It weighs in at USDA size extra Large - which is 27 oz/doz and works out to 2.25oz/egg (or more)-- so this one weighed in at 2.293oz. I think that I had missed her earlier 'first' pullet egg and attributed it to another pullet. Hopefully she isn't always going to lay X-Large, she only weighs in at 4.5# herself. (Although I once had a Gold Comet that produced an X-Large daily she didn't live to old age from what I could tell, I don't know how old she was when I got her.)---- This pullet is the one that had feathered shanks...and is line bred from my First CL female "Robin".

For my needs, I would rather have a daily medium to large - than a less than daily X-Large. I think I will have a talk with the pullet today about being an over-achiever.

ETA - Most of my CL eggs are 1.9 to 2+ oz - so the high end of medium to large. Large is what is expected in recipies - so that is a very satisfactory size IMO. It does take a little bit of time for the pullets to get to their normal size. :O)
