Cream Legbars

At what age have y'all noticed your cream leg bars laying? Mine are at least 20 weeks old and still no signs of laying. I thought they would be like my leghorns and lay early but doesn't look like it lol

Many people will say around 24weeks. But with it currently being winter(well early Spring) some Cream Legbar pullets raised up during this time might be taking a little longer to lay. I currently have two 30week old pullets (wow they are getting older lol) and they, to me, don't look near ready. Im thinking my two will lay closer to 34 weeks ish.

My last batch of pullets were hatched at the end of September and have been laying for several weeks--I forget exactly. So around 5-6 months. The ladies that hatched at the beginning of June did lay for at least a month prior to closing the factory for winter (I don't use supplemental light)--so maybe started closer to the 5 month mark (maybe 22 weeks if you go by weeks). They did start up in January-February for the most part and have been pretty productive except when we got temps in the single digits or below which is just as well because the eggs tend to freeze and crack before I can collect them when its so bitterly cold outside.

Got our first Rees cream Legbar egg today!!!

Will take a pic tomorrow.

Congrats and yes, please on the pictures! I seem to recall you got them in September or October? Are they around 6 months then--and I also forgot how many you have, boy am I getting forgetful!

Mine are all now in high gear laying! Exciting!!!

That's great news! Not 12? Maybe one will lay first thing this morning so you can slip in and make it an even dozen, of course that would make the larger number off--49 is a strange number so better yet to make it a baker's dozen for an even 50
