Cream Legbars

Got our first Rees cream Legbar egg today!!!

Will take a pic tomorrow.

Here are a few of my first few eggs from 2 of my CCL hens. The top egg is a Welsummer, and the middle two are a Bielefelder and RIR. Thankfully the greenish blue egg on the right is from a hen with no crest that I will not be using for breeding and the more blue left egg is from my hen with the most desirable traits. Weights on the eggs have been right around 45 gm.

That is a pretty green egg on the right! I know not what you were probably hoping for but still pretty. The other looks right in line with what mine lay. Blueish green.

I did a quick candling of the 37 eggs when they were on day 8 and all are developing well Lets just hope they make it past lockdown to hatch day

So my dad sent me this picture today while I was in class...apparently one of the legbar roos escaped the pen and wanted to visit the silkie grow outs...ignore my sad excuse of a wind barrier on their pen lol

I had a Cream Legbar male last year that LOVED my Silkie hens. He hopped their fence frequently for visits

I eventually culled him.
