Cream Legbars

I'm looking for some mature laying cream legbars either local or pay to have them shipped in if anyone has them! Please pm me if you have them and would like to sell

Hi, is this the start of your Cream Legbar stock? Do you have other breeds that you enjoy?
I noticed there is an Ohio breeder listed on the Cream Legbar Club website.
Hope you have pretty pictures to share soon.

I got a pullet egg today. She is 23weeks 5days. Its kind of a blue green, I cant tell lol. Looks bluer in the pic than I think it is, I see a green tint, my DD sees blue...

Congrats CP -- nice shape and nice saturation too. It is a pretty color (from the pict). are those whiet or light green below it? It is amazing how that 24-week target so often seems to come true....22-24 weeks is what I'm hearing from lots of folk now.

The ones below are also CL eggs, one is a pale blue/green and the other is a pale green.

Turquoise perhaps? I love getting that color. Do you notice shell sheen? Most of mine are a matte or "eggshell" texture, only a few have a nice waxy or shiny sheen.

Does anyone else have Ameraucanas? I do get my most saturated truest blue from a Wheaten Ameraucana, and it happens to be shiny too.

I'd be interested to know if that egg has a double yolk? It looks like a really nice size for a pullet egg.

Hi, welcome to Cream Legbars, and all things chickens.
Chickens Galore is a go to source for lots of people in L.A. County, with many repeat customers.

Anytime you want to move into breeder stock, i.e. people who may have specific interests, selective breeding programs, etc, consider looking online for the breeder club websites of any breed you are interested in. For example, the Cream Legbar Club website has a lot of information specific to Cream Legbars, and it also lists breeders by location. There are four breeders listed in California, including myself; I am in Southern California but I'm not sure where the others are located. You may also find other CL breeders and enthusiasts on this BYC thread, in the Southern California thread, or the buy/sell/trade section. Breeders will often ship hatching eggs, chicks, even started stock, so you can always find something you "need".

If you enjoy seeing lots of beautiful poultry under one roof, consider attending the Ventura Poultry Show, Bash at the Beach, Nov. 7 & 8; by Seaside Feather Fanciers. It is held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, right off the beach. Breeders often have lovely started stock for sale, or you can make arrangements for future purchases. If any of that is misinformation, I'm hoping Walt will correct it.
Oh wow! I did not know there was a poultry show there! It's an hour and a half away but I think I'm going to go! Are you going?
Will they sell birds there?

That is a gorgeous egg, whatever color you call it! My CL lays a light sky blue egg (like the CL above lower left) but I would love one like the one on top's saturation. I have 2 Wheaten Ameraucanas that will be laying in the next few weeks and I'm curious to see how their eggs compare to my CL's. I personally would love the blue-green shades, my favorite colors.

Sol2Go, where are you in SoCal? I'm from Tustin originally but have lived in Santa Barbara (college), LA, San Clemente and most recently Oceanside before moving to Washington state in 2014.

I'm going and they do sell birds there...but probably not Legbars.....but you never know what will be for sale. Generally they have some very good birds for sale. There will be several nationally known breeders at that show.

I will be there as well! Hopefully I'll be able to bump into you to say hi! Always great to meet people with much more wisdom than me in a subject I love.
I hope they have some Lavender birds.. I've been really wanting to add anything Lavender to my flock!
