Cream Legbars

I downloaded it too and also color splash. THAT'S a neat app that I'll be playing with a lot. Not a cream legbar, but cool effects

Is this the type of turkey that the wattles change color like a mood ring? I was fascinated last time I visited with a friend who had them. Fun to test the color apps against that kaleidoscope.

The problem with 'color' apps is the different types of ambient lighting and the fact that the digital camera circuit and software varies by camera, especially when it comes to built in hardware and software 'color correction' and 'white balance'... So many variables combined with non-calibrated equipment will produce results all over the place...

It would be nice if everyone could afford a Pantone color wheel to do side by side color comparisons in the same lighting as the egg, but short of that I have always recommend people hit up a paint store (even Walmart or a big box hardware store) and grab some of the free paint color cards in the appropriate shades to match the eggs (or close) and take pictures of the eggs next to those color cards, that way others can get the same color cards and compare with a base reference that many can easily get...

Oh, that's a good idea....

Carotenoids will make the yolks a richer color . No effect on shell color that I know of .

Yes, the yolks are almost orange from a diet rich in natural greens from foraging and from deeply pigmented orange produce like pumpkin, sweet potato, yam, cantaloupe, etc. That's why I thought it odd that there was mention on this thread of a deeper egg shell color from carotenoids which certainly there is no evidence of that from my flock.

Since the blue color is derived from bile I doubt there is much effect from carotenoids . Marigold petals and other orange produce are proven to enrich the color of egg yolks . I know canary breeders feed red to red factor canaries . Without the red produce they are just yellow . They have to have the red factor gene for this to work .
