I'm new to CCLs. This is my first year with chickens at all. I got 3 CCLs in September. The first is 2 weeks older than the others. Can you tell me what you think of these ladies. I may try to get a couple more and a roo next year and hatch. My feelings won't be hurt. I don't want to show. I just want a good flock for hobby and eggs. I also don't want to hatch poor quality.

Green.  I would expect the egg production to increase, wonder how consistent the body shape/size will be.
The feathers should be distinctly barred.

Welcome to your adventure, and thanks for posting!
All of your pullets appear to have something to offer including small combs, clearly developed crests, and nice yellow feet. As they begin to lay, their egg color, size and production will be another consideration. Here's a few of my comments based on these pics/poses.

#1 you hit the mark for color!
She may have a good tail angle. Considering she is 2 weeks older, her face/wattles are less developed than the other pullets (less red).

#2 really nice barring, may also have good tail angle.

#3 Color and pattern look furthest from SOP but she may have a large body, long back, and good tail angle which are fundamental for type.

You have time to choose a rooster for these girls, good opportunity to research what attributes would be a good match for these pullets.

4 out of 24 made it. I'm honestly done with shipped eggs at this point before I have a meltdown from the stress. Happy I have the 4, but greatly irritated that I've lost so many last minute.

I have about a 50-60% average hatch rate with shipped eggs. I have also had 0 eggs hatch once. It all depends on how the ship them and package them. I usually have the shipper not label the box except this end up....make sure eggs are fresh and not too porous or cracked. I habe just hatched Ayam Cemani chicks from Pyxis and she gave me day old eggs so when they arrived they less than a week old, she double boxed them, and then she only labeled the box with this end up not even a fragile. She did insure the box because of the value.of the eggs so....dont give up. You can do it!!!!

Mine will be laying by the first week in Feb.

The eggs are blue with a light green tinge. It is my understanding that they become more blue as the laying cycle progresses.

I think, that part of it may be from not turning them in the beginning so many days. Every single time I get hatching eggs shipped they look like gelatin for air cells. Humidity is mid 20's in the house. That might have some to do with it. The chicks didn't absorb their sac. If they had all hatched 12/24. There would have been 10 girls, 2 boys. So I'm a little bummed.

I already lost all my Isbar eggs which was 32 eggs and only got 1 chick.

I have the "cheap" LG's so that's part of my drama. . I've upgraded one to forced air and now have 40 of my Andi eggs in to test my issues.
