Cream Legbars

Baby photos!!!! Of seven fertile eggs that went into lockdown, six babies so far (2 boys, 4 girls). GREAT markings! This is very good, as the entire point of this hatch was to get pullets from Lissa.

(One more egg not pipped yet, but it's only day 21, so I'm going to wait and give it a chance.)

So cute !!

I know - when you posted those numbers, I got REALLY nervous, as I was focused on having at least a couple pullets form this pairing. Whew!!!

(I've heard/read that sometimes nutritional factors can affect the balance of males and females, not sure how common that is.)

I have no idea, I think it is just luck of the draw. I know most of my hatches have been girl heavy. Maybe I was just getting too cocky over all the girls and mother nature wanted to knock me down a peg..

I wonder if the hens attitude towares the rooster has anything to do with this. Likes him a lot so doesn't want to create competition. Is rather lonely or would rather be left alone so has more girls to distract.

I think there might be something wrong with my littlest chick’s wing. She is a Cream Legbar. Frenchie has been a slow grower, and is nearly half the size of her sister who hatched the same day. I was worried she was failing to thrive, but lately she’s started gaining weight and growing big girl feathers. But her wing seems to fold a bit extra under at the tip so those feathers fan out over her back. It doesn’t seem to bother her, and when I extend her wing it doesn’t seem to hurt her. Has anyone seen anything like this?

I have that on one chick she was one hatched with splayed leg and a wry neck. She is doing fine but slow growing and feathers seem to grow faster on one side over the other.

So I have seen lots of pictures of Cream Legbar Roos and many of them are all black and white barred with little other colors or they are much more colorful with light tan in the wings and breast. A little tan in the hackle and saddle feathers also.

Which is more true of the standard?

I know you want yellow legs, all white earlobs and prefer a comb not falling over but not as large of a deal.

Also I know I dont understand tail angle real well.

My main question though is the color.

thoughts?

Hi, I don't have any experience with this, but I was wondering if you have a pic from another angle?
Is it just on one side? Does she keep her balance and move around normally?

One time I hatched three mixed breed pullets, full sisters, and one had an under developed wing. I always wondered about that.
