Cream Legbars

I think its still a developing breed so a comprehensive description of breed requirements might be tougher than a simple google search lol

I think you are right and until the judges have their say, it is anybody's guess. I have my ideas, you yours and everyone else has theirs...of course they are all wrong....

My Henry has some pale tips...wondering if that is frostbite? They went out into the run in the below zero temps a few days ago....I'll see if I can get a pic tomorrow.

I brought one of my Cream Legbar roosters inside the barn today. His waddles are so swollen and he is in so much pain from frostbite, I could not leave him out any longer.

He is the one I showed this fall, so I am feeling really bad. My show birds become almost pets, I decided to not breed him because of his tail set. I was keeping him as a back up. I have a younger bird with better tail set to use instead.

Rottlady I wish the frostbite on mine was as minor as yours is. If he only would have left the cap on!!!

Looks like you have a nice set up. That's a cool hat for his comb! Good idea.

My guy is actually a lot worse than it seems in the photo His comb flops at the back which you cannot see I suspect he will be left with a 1/2- 1" tall x 2-3" long comb and 1/3 of his wattles if he is lucky

That's about what this one will have. I will try to get a picture of my CLB daddy from last year, he has no comb left. They are not a good cold weather bird. As much as I like them I may have to get rid of them just because of the way they handle cold.

Unless everyone starts burning tires (tyres for you Brits) and speeds up global warming, I just do not think I can have them.

I have a small heater over the roost in my bachelor pen, where I stick all the cream legbar cockerels and cocks for winter. If I were home instead of traveling I would have had a better chance.

I'm looking to convince my DH that I need a sweeter heater or some similar wall mount washable heater.

I am looking to breed smaller comb legbar roosters, As I recall the comb is only 4 points when they are judged.

However, if that does not happen and I do not get rid of the legbars,

I am looking at some of these from Amazon
