I have judged the online Cream Legbar club show and her birds have consistently placed in the top of the groups..

BTW. Everyone on this thread should join the Cream Legbar Club to help us get the breed official APA status.
Aww shucks Ralphie! It's been a hard row this year, but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel! I would still like to get some replacement birds from someone, but it is dubious at best right now due to family issues, still these girls are very easy on the eyes! There's still the golden crele versus cream issue, I know mine tend more towards gold than cream. I'm starting to get eggs, too, and they are right between sky blue and mint tint, not quite either but something between. I guess I'm not really surprised since the old girl who likely is mother to many of them, being as she was always a spry healthy momma, laid mint tinted blues with blue white specks. Some of the original group were never very fertile, so hopefully these will not be a repeat.

Ya...many still tend to Gold.

I got my first Cream Cockerel in 2013 and it wasn't until just this year that I finally got an all Cream Breeding group sent up. Pen #1 still had two gold birds in it but pen #2 was all Cream.

I had someone come on Sunday morning to buy most of my 16-weeks old pullets so I had to take a good look at them last week to see who the keepers were. I was surprised to find that there was only one gold pullet out of the 13 pullets in the 16-week old group. I have 2 gold pullets in a younger group, but I am used to seeing 25%-50% gold. I kept 4 pullets from the 16-week old group. None of them are great. One has good size a nice long straight back full tail and good color, but her crest is tiny. Another one has a great crest, decent angles, but has the black crest coloring that I am trying to work away from and is way under the 50% line if bodyweight. The other two also have some redeeming qualities but some that I am not sure that I want to breed. I will evaluate the younger group in a month. I think there are about 20 pullets in that group. I just need 1-2 really good pullets to make progress this year. I haven't look very close at cockerels yet, but only need one good cockerel to make this year's grow-out group a success.

The black crests are a problem, but I think. Or was getting them under control. I have 2 good Cream cocks, but I had fertility issues and an egg water working against me.

I plan to hatch again this fall. I need to get some new birds though.

I lost my two gold creek cocks over the winter....so I need them and some good creams hens...

But I am extremely happy with my whites.
