Creating Experimental Black Crele Chickens (Different Genetics, new variety)

I don't mind silkies but ya not a silkie cross fan myself.
Is it from your larger then life silkie rooster?
If so I wouldn't encourage crossing him with such a small hen as a d'uccle just for "experimenting".

Yes, I used him. He's the only breeder silkie roo that I have right now. I do have a bunch of younger large silkie roos, & pullets that aren't at breeding age yet. They're about the same size of my LF Light Brahmas. They're about 11-12 weeks old now.

I'm not a fan. I don't personally enjoy Silkie crosses.

I love silkies and silkie crosses. To each their own though. It’s the d'Uccles that I don’t like.

Why????? Why giant silkies?

I'm with @Cyprus on this, actually. I'm not a fan of them. They remind me of the teacup dog breeds that some women put in their purses. I wouldn't mind trying them, as in on my plate... but otherwise... Meh.
We made soup out of our problem silkie rooster who wouldn't stop fighting with the others in the coop. He tasted different then regular chicken. He tasted both gamey, and sweet. I think giant fuzzy chickens will be fun watching run around the yard.
