Creating Experimental Black Crele Chickens (Different Genetics, new variety)

Pics
Here's why you're having trouble getting buff to come through.
Chickens who express buff need three key genes.
  1. The red gene
  2. The dilute gene
  3. Black restrictors

So the problem comes that in the first BO x BR outcross you create splits. Then breeding those together is your best chance of rejoining all 3 genes needed. If a bird has red but no dilute or black restricor, you get black barred with red leakage. A bird with red and dilute and barred will probably be black barred with maybe some buff leakage. Uniform buff would require a black restrictor gene but then there goes the black barring.
Okay.

Not, exactly true. The chick I have is all silver no buff, but buff is its genetics, therefore it won't show. Buff Orpington/Barred Rock X Buff Orpington/Barred Rock.
How do you know buff is its genetics if it isn't showing?
When you say both parents were buff orpington X barred rock crosses which were which?
Was it orp rooster over BR hen or other way around for each side?
BO are gold. BR are silver so you're crossing gold and silver then crossing again.

Buff Orpington's have the silver/gold genetics so basically it doesn't matter. Pretty much what I seen on the lacing genetics section. So, yeah. They were using different chickens on the page, but buff is a start.
You can't make lacing with buff and black. Though it may look similar, it's not the same genetically. It's the result of the diluting of the buff color combining with black.

It was buff Orpington/Barred Rock rooster over a Buff Orpington/Barred Rock hen.

Genetics 101
Black makes everything except dominant white black. Sometimes there is leakage. Black is dominant over buff.
Yes I read that. There's no buff showing anywhere on the chick. Since I'm using extended black, I'm on the right track, the other genetics site says extended black is needed for the feathers.

Right... and of their genetics... who was the parents?
Who was the parents of that chick. I only have a picture of the father right now, & I have the mother sitting on some eggs.

Found a picture of the mother.

She's on the left side of the gate.

The chick is a pullet isn't it?
