What do you believe the genetic make up of that chick is?
I've noticed lately that a concerning sum of people seem to think that Blue Laced Red Wyandotte is a breed, not a variety. As in, a whole lot.Single comb is recessive so takes two copies to show so bred to a rose comb all would be rose but carry a gene for single.
But the rose comb could also be carrying a gene for single if that were the case it would be about 50/50 single and rose split to single.
IDK about 3rd generation because IDK what was meant with the first two generations.
Also don't know about producing all splash. There would be no reason it would unless it was splash laced bred to splash laced. It works just like any other BBS breeding.
Could of just been luck of the draw. Especially if only a few were hatched.
OP has already stated she is working with a scientist that knows chicken genetics and has discussed genetics with him and he agreed with everything she discussed.Not everyone is as skilled in genetics as others. Heck, the OP might not know what the color patterns/bases are. She might only know what breeds go into the certain color she was looking for. So please take that in consideration.
The different genetics portion refers to the breeds I'm using that don't consist of Black Breasted Red genes, but rather make use of the wheaten genes from Buff Orpingtons as a the main component in coloration in the crele pattern with Barred Rocks making the barred pattern. I've done reading, before my project. It is possible with what I'm doing. Make sense?Really?
