How did I know? I log onto a website, and some software that innocuously got put on my computer, keeps track of my interests. It talks to software on websites I visit. Then I receive emails for products I have demonstrated an interest in. The fewer websites I go to, the fewer ad emails I receive.
^A concern for me too... how can they guarantee that your eyeball being scanned a dozen times a day for the duration of your life won't cause a problem... ever? Especially given how new the tech is.
Wel... I was being a smarty pants... I meant how'd you know about my (not really) irregularity.
Seeing how fingerprint technology is right now a big thing in many chain businesses for employees to log in and 'clock in' for work or internet it doesn't surprise me at all that they are seriously contemplating moving on to retinal scans as a mode of tracking.
Me and my dad were discussing something similar to this about a year ago, on how we can see within a decade's time them putting barcodes on everyone's hands or something(somewhere easy to see and scan) and all your credit card info, SS, etc is all tied into the barcode/microchip in you so you would have no need for cards, cash, ID, license, etc...because it would all be in that barcoded microchip in your hand..and the government would be able to monitor you everywhere you went (as now you can go about and pay cash for things and there isn't a digital trail like from a check or card) .... I know it sounds paranoid but to me it seem very feasible and shoot makes more sense IMO than retinal scans if they wanted to do something like that. *shrugs*
Yeah, but even that system can be hacked... ANY system that stores info can be.
Whether it's a filing cabinet and the lock is jimmied, or more complicated ones.
How many times has the US alone had to update our currency to stop counterfeiters?
How many new features added to checks to stop forgery?
Now that those are just not cutting it, we're going digital. Of course, there's a HUGE difference between the pad of a finger being surface scanned... damage pretty well impossible thanks to several layers of skin... designed to protect. Versus scanning an eyeball... that does NOT have a protective layer... until I see this tech in place (on someone else's eye) for a decade or more with NO ill effects there's now way I'd volunteer for it.
Also I'm trying to figure what they'll do once this system is compromised... what else IS there after that?
Chip/barcode wise... those can be rigged, removed, altered, etc. WAY more easily than an eyeball... one would think... may be why we're skipping that and going straight to retinal. Well, and the fact that there are boodles of people who figure anything like that is Revelations stuff. Very bad for voter confidence for a politician who claims to be of that faith to push for something like this.... heck, neither Bush nor Obama has mentioned such a thing and they've both been tagged as the anti-christ.
