Crest Protection?

Thank you so much! This sounds so easy! I was worried I'd have to try my hand at knitting or something!
Can I use netting from a little bag of tangerines? I already have that on hand.
Her crest has a small base... I have an elastic ribbon for crafting. Can I use that in place of a hair tie?
If so, I can make one tonight!
I wouldn’t think that that size netting would stop them from pecking her, I’d stick with Tulle.

I think I want to make some these just because they sound hilarious!
Tulle is the fabric I think you are meaning. There is also some that is called "bird netting"... it's used to make veils.
Yes! Thank you!
They do seem humorous. I can't wait to try.
Think what I have on hand will work?
Oh! And if you make some, can I see? I couldn't find pictures when I looked!
That’s because I invented them:D. I’ll try to get you some pics!

yes I do! All you need is a piece of that netting like fabric (I’m drawing a blank here, but you can get whatever color you want at Walmart) a hair tie that fits snugly around the base of the birds crest, and a hot glue gun. All you do is cut out a square large enough to cover the entire crest, and roll the edges of the material around the hair tie and glue it, then turn it inside out. I’ll have to post a picture, but I don’t have on on those device.
Can you make an article about this? Very useful.

I used pick no more on my poor Polish. Unfortunately as soon as it wore off they were back at it. I ended up selling my Polish. :(
You might end up needing a coop just for the Polish. :(

I'm with @21hens-incharge ... A separate pen for Polish/Silkies is a the best remedy. I have a friend that purchase some Polish, they look like a "monk" cause of the missing crest feathers. She then separated them from the rest of the flock, thankfully the crest feathers are growing back. She opt to sell them.

One thing I haven't seen discussed is feed.
I would like to know what makes up the chicken's entire diet. What is the protein percentage of the main feed? What other treats and supplements have been added to the diet and what percentage of total intake do they make up?

Yes worth knowing.

When I had my Polish they were on chick starter in with only other young (same age) chicks also on starter. I believe it was 20% protein. I was giving zero treats to that group.
