Since I lost one of my 7 week old crested duck( with a large pompom) under mysterious circumstances I'm extremely concerned (normal duck it's whole life but rapidly deteriorated resulted with a very long seizure then death) about my remaining one.

My remaining duck "duckie" has 2 pom poms one tiny, normal one on top, then a very close but separate pompom that dangles. Should I be concerned over the dangling one?

Are you familiar with the crested gene? https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/the-truth-behind-crested-ducks.707110/
I'd be concerned about any female with a crest being mated by a drake because there is no skull under the crest and drake tend to grab feathers on the head to hold on during mating. As for 2 crest, I've seen this before and as long as the crest doesn't hinder her from seeing where she is going 2 crests happen. Your ducklings are adorable. ❤️

Even my females "mating" together held on to my crested duck's crest. Thankfully they never injured her, but drakes are much more aggressive.
