I have lots of Polish, 3 Creves and 3 Houdans. I give them all haircuts around the eyes and find they are much friendlier when they can see. My Creves seem to be the calmest and I have one who's my shadow. The Houdans seem to be affectionate birds.

My little mystery bird is 2 weeks now.
His(/her) crest is now a definite. The legs are darkening. It looks to me like it will have muffs. Any thoughts?

I have been trying to google pictures of black polish birds, especially chicks, and I just can't come up with anything substantial. I have heard of them tho. He DOES appear to have muffs/beard, which lends more to a crev.

Is there anyone to contact about getting hatching eggs? I have been studying the breed for quite awhile. I am MG certified so I would not be able to bring in any live birds. I want to get a critical list bird to work on. Any hints or help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd offer some eggs but you are really far from the Appalachian Mountains region and I'm sure there wouldn't be any viable eggs by the time they got to you!
