Hi, I have some questions on what I should do. We have 2 quail, a male and a female (we had more but they died:hit). We are about to move to Washington, my mom said I can't take the quail with me. The problem is the female has a broken toe, and cannot stand up, and the male quail is an aggressive quail, so we have to separate them (they can see each other). So should we let them go?(that would kill them both) or try to give them away? The problem with giving them away is no one wants a crippled quail, and the male quail can't be with other male quail. I'm really stumped on this one what do you suggest? Its a bummer I can't take them with us, we have had them for 2 years and put so much time money and effort into them.

Sounds like you need to find a new mom..... :gig

Post them on Craigslist and here for free.... I wouldn't let them go in the wild, especially if they are coturnix.

I doubt you would consider eating them but they do make a fine meal...

hmm. I have a quail infirmary for one of my injured/crippled quail. what part of CA?

I think i would throw a fit if my mom made me leave my quail. I have the same problem as you. a crippled quail (that I love with all my heart). and aggressive roos. (which my sister will soon be keeping as indoor pets.)

post an ad on craigslist, free to good home, they'll be gone in a couple days. Don't let them go, they'll get killed within hours by cats or a fox if they make it to nighttime.
