Critically Endangered Nankin Bantams - RARE & HTF

I haven't tried Elaine Shirley yet, but Richard Larson responds to emails and he still raises nankins. I don't know why they aren't on his website.
Richard's a good guy. If you can, allow some time to talk to him. His family has been farming for generations, and he has some neat tools and tales.

Hi! I was wandering through the Nankin threads and this popped up again. Did you ever find your Nannies? If you did, how are they doing and how do you like them? If not, we're done hatching for this year, but will start up again, probably around February. I have a few more pullets, this year, so hopefully we'll have a better "crop" come Spring. Fingers crossed! :fl

I am very interested in getting single comb nankin chicks. Could you please follow up with me by email. [email protected].

Hi! I'm in northern VA but have a friend in SE PA that is looking for Nankins too! Do you have a website or anything?

Texas Nankin enthusiasts, I have 5 rosecomb Nankin chicks that as of today are 2-1/2 weeks old that I would be glad to share with anyone within driving distance of the Austin area...and I will be happy to meet you halfway somewhere. I adore Nankins and my intention was to start a small flock again but am dealing with a family health issue and don't really have time right now to rebuild their coop or watch to see if I can safely integrate them with the larger chickens.

If you can't find somone nearby, call your Agricultural Extension Office - or whoever handles 4H. I'm sure they can find someone who would love to take on a breed conservation project. That's actually how we got started, here in Maryland. I wish I could justify a road trip that far ... I'd come get them, myself!

Thanks, MROO. I absolutely don't want them to be "wasted" and am torn about letting them go so I want to find someone who will appreciate what they are.
