Crochet 2009 Fall Hexagon swap. SIGNUPS CLOSED

A couple more questions....what type of yarn should be used? I have lots of bright 4 ply, Red Heart yarn....would that be acceptable? Or do you usually want some other type of yarn?

I found an easy pattern on Lion Brand's website that I should be able to do. Also, what do you make with the motifs? Is there usually enough participation to get enough motifs for an afghan?

Thanks for the info....like I said earlier, I've never participated in a swap before.

The last granny square swap had 15 to sign up--that would be enough for a small afghan/throw. I never thought about yarn type. I've completed all of mine with Red Heart 4 ply also--acrylic. I also had some Yarn Bee Venetian ("furry" yarn) that I used with a couple that I've completed. Okay fellow swappers--we need an answer to yarn type--does it matter?

I wouldn't have thought it made any difference!
I enjoy all the different textures in am item! Gives it character and something for others to inquire after! Go nuts!
Hahaha!
Algo? A preference on type?

Look at the very first post on page 1 of this thread--it will fill you in on how this swap works. You can find a hexagon pattern by googling crochet hexagon--that is how I found all of mine. Hope you decide to participate

Thank you soooo much for doing my job while I was out of town. You are so sweet!

To answer everyones questions, you can use any yarn type you want. Cotton, wool, acrylic, a mixture of any of those or any other type that I left out and the ply dose not matter either. Fat, fuzzy, not fuzzy, sport whatever texture you want.

I just got home from a 3 day union meeting and am really tired and have to get me and my son ready for bed so we can get up early for work tomorrow. I will have to wait till after work tomorrow to update the list of names of the people that want to join. Please be patient with me and if I don't have every ones names on there by tomorrow night let me know.

I'll work on the pattern this weekend and see if I can actually do a hex. I won't sign up if I can't master the pattern.....I'll be back to sign up if I'm successful. Thanks for all the info.

We stayed way up at a cabin on Lake Nebagamon, not far from Lake Superior. We fished too much to get any crocheting done, but I did a lot on the plane ride. beautiful country up there (and cooler than Arkansas)
