Crochet along Doily Join us

Oh my gosh! I must be more tired than I thought. I've been doing sc instead of sl st and counting wrong. I finally pulled myself together and got a few rows done that I didn't have pull out. LOL! Hopefully tomorrow goes better!

I am using red and white.

I have also been taking out rows. grrrrr. It's been a long time since I have read a pattern. Usually I just look at it and go from there.

I do like the flower you found better then the one w/ the pattern. The only thing is w/o the "brooch" center will the center look sloppy since it is 5 individual medallions made into a flower?

I liked it. Looks a lot better than a big ole hole. As for sloppy...I think it would look great if yellow beads were used with red petals. I will do my own thing. I was only trying to give the other crocheters something different to think about. I decided to remove the link. Maybe it's best to do what is posted. So Kass are you making this doily?

I thought it was a good option, that the stitches were similar enough to work together well.

Yes, thought I'd try along too. I doubt I'll do the medallions but the center for sure. Repeat medallion making has never been a strong suit for me.

I am needing a sofa art idea, and thought 3 doilies the color of the wall (light blue) w/ a chocolate background might make a nice triptic art piece.

Most doilies I've made have been w/ old crochet magic magazines so have had picture instructions, not sure about the written instructions, so we'll see how that goes

Okay I already have a question

  • Rnd 1 (RS): With light yellow, ch 7, join to form a ring, ch 1, 20 sc in ring, join in beg sc, fasten off. (120 sc)

How did 20 sc magically become 120?

How I am reading this is you will have the equivalent of 21 stitches in the center ring (20 sc and 1 ch to stand for the first sc)

I think it's just a typo. Just checked pattern. It is a typo. I have the doily part done. Nope ch 1 is just ch 1, It is not a sc. It just makes joining easier.

Kass it's real easy to join motifs. I will try to do a written out tutorial with pictures. It might take me awhile though. I am quilting most the day.
