If your tails are long I would use the to do the whip stitch method.I will go back to reading in a bit. I'm "new" to crocheting. I did crochet a few projects under grandma's teaching in early 70s.
I started crochet swatches, learning stitches, earlier this year. Used yarn from an in-expensive kit hubby got from Amazon. Man, in-expensive yarn is SOOO thin & tiny, hard on hands. After home from rehab, I tucked the neat kit away in my closet.
Christmas day - hubby has gotten me 3 different colors of variegated, acrylic yarn in colors I like & beginner crochet book... Day after Christmas, I go through the book. I wanted to do Granny Squares. The instructions & project were not easy - especially (?) since meant for changing colors... YouTube - found a video on single color Granny Squares & quickly mastered the technique. Of course, this UT person did not have a video for joining Granny Squares (just many different styles of squares - some absolutely beautiful!).
So ideas? Thinking join for simple Afghan. Contrasting yarn w/ enough border/edge to show it off & make it slightly larger. Currently my Squares are amazingly similar in size, shape & consistancy, but aren't blocked. Since relatively flat, do they need to be blocked? Currently have 33 Squares & #34 1/2 done. Do need to hide beginning & ending yarns, still.
I've seen what I want, but w/o knowing the terms, can't seem to find it now. Links & specific YouTube would be great!!

Looks like only one of 3 videos attached. Different from others I've "got" or seen, so will watch it today. If your tails are long I would use the to do the whip stitch method.
if your tails are short i would weave in the ends and then do the slip stitch method.
Oh im sorry. should I find new ones?Looks like only one of 3 videos attached. Different from others I've "got" or seen, so will watch it today.
Thank you.
Can you share the pattern for the doggie sweater?I never got the tag notification for this but here I am anyways! I've been crocheting for about a year and a half now and am trying to start a business out of it. (Going to craft shows and vending at festivals and the such, and hopefully online eventually) Here's some of the stuff I've made.View attachment 3728196View attachment 3728200View attachment 3728201View attachment 3728202View attachment 3728203View attachment 3728204View attachment 3728205View attachment 3728206View attachment 3728207View attachment 3728209
