Pick her brain as much as you can, any way you can. Can she do video chats? Interview her, ask questions, take notes, record her. Try not to let her knowledge get lost. Find out what her life was like as a little girl, a young woman. Ask about wars she remembers, the Depression, her first car, how she met her husband. What it was like raising kids in her day. Some day she won 't be able to answer these questions and it will be too late.
Oh, I will, for sure. My family does go visit a few times a year, and I talk with her as much as I can. One thing I would love to learn is how to weave. My grandma has a loom, it's just really big and a pain to set up.
It's really is, I did a beanie with an argyle pattern on it and it used that to create the texture and it's really nice looking. Of course the hat is hideous to wear but at least it's nice to look at. Whoever did it first was awesome.
Ooo I love hideous hats. Do you have a photo of it in all its ugliness?? :D
