Crocheters Thread

It didn’t need to be a square foot. Now I need to be sure it’s going to work as it was intended. IMG_1329.jpeg

Does anyone use a lighted crochet hook? I put one on my birthday list to hopefully help use the dark chenille yarn I got
My husband somehow heard about lighted crochet hooks and told me about them. So I searched reviews and found some people who really liked theirs and I bought a set. The set is fine, but the light up feature isn’t really worthwhile.

If I put it on the bright setting, I get light flashing in my eyes and that’s a problem. So I put it on medium setting and then it’s fine. But there’s no way that it helps me to see the work or the yarn better. It’s just a glowing crochet hook.

My take is, the light is pointless. The set is ok though. It has interchangeable heads, and it has some sizes that my trusty old aluminum set didn’t have, so I don’t feel that I wasted my money.

I will add that I still prefer my aluminum hooks. Ones with “ergonomic” handles are well and good if people’s hands require that kind of help. But I have found that when working with thick yarn, the handle part hits your work when trying to insert the hook. (I.e. the smooth metal shaft is not long enough.)
