Crocheters Thread

Beautiful stash! I store my yarn similarly too. They're all squished into this tiered cart looking thingy. I have many colors but like half a skein of each color so I cannot make any cool designs or afghans out of it. I think I might find a few amigurumi patterns that can be made with any color and just use that. Im 5 squared away from finishing my blanket, so most of those colors will be used hopefully. Then I will buy some white yarn and hopefully make my first sweater 😆
I’m working on a new sweater. It’s pink, gray, and black variegated yarn. I’m using the same hexagon pattern.

You could do something like this with your #4s:

Since each block is a different stitch/pattern/texture, it would probably be ok to throw in some random other fibers and weights. Or if the chenille ones just don’t quite look right with the worsted, save them up until you have enough to do a separate chenille blanket.

For the chunky chenille, I have found that just doing straight rows of single, half or double crochet and alternating colors makes a nice blanket. Let me see if I have a picture of the one I did recently.

I didn’t have enough of the pink multi color to make a decent sized blanket, but I was lucky enough to find the blue at Goodwill, so by striping them, it was big enough.
The throw looks awesome and I might attempt if I have enough yarn. Your blanket also looks awesome! Did you hand crochet it? How long did it take?

I used a really big wooden crochet hook. I don’t know what size off the top of my head, but it’s huge! It probably took me 2 or 3 evenings. Thick yarn with a big hook crochets up really fast.

It has been a journey to crochet all those squares and weave in all those ends and I'm glad that's over. And I just spent 25 minutes connecting 5 edges with sl st. I swear, each of these dang slip stitches takes the same amount of time as TWO DOUBLE CROCHET CLUSTERS (OR 6 DC). But I have no choice but to keep going, lol. Wish me luck.

I counted the amount of edges I have to crochet and if I'm not counting wrong I have 49. Assuming I get better at joining, I'll take 4 minutes per edge. That gives me 196 minutes, or.... 3.27 hours......
Wow.
You can do it!! It will look great when it’s done!
