Crocheters Thread

I'm cro-knitting my cast off because it was getting frustrating with a non hooked needle šŸ˜…

I think I have to take a break from crocheting! :( My arm/wrist are aching and I haven't touched a hook for 2 days.
My left index finger is my yarn tension finger. I have a permanent crease between the top and middle joints from the yarn moving across it for years.

I had a callous of sorts on my left index finger for awhile from "scooping" the yarn with a knitting needle across that spot. Man, I really noticed when I went from a size 5 needle to a size 2! The point was a lot smaller/sharper.

A friend of mine just finished a knitted afghan with rayon chenille yarn. This type of yarn is known for a horrible problem called "worming." Here is a not-great picture. Here is more information. Crochet seems to work better for this yarn.

Her entire afghan is full of these "worms" after she put it in the dryer to fluff it up. Her description is, "It looks like a cat shredded it." There are long loops hanging off everywhere.

The fix? Rip it out and try knitting it with (much) smaller needles, and/or pair it with another yarn to try to make it stay in place.

In reality? Cry. Throw the :ducthing away. Show it to the lady at the yarn shop (who is a weaver, not a knitter) so she can warn other knitters NOT to use this yarn for knitting.
