I never owned quail (and I'm not planning on) but a friend hatched quail and ended up with a male. He kept it in with the females but had to seperate it from the others because it attacked (or whatever) the females really badly. He said that they have a different way of mating and he's not sure how the breeders do it so he let him free (something probably killed it).I believe it’s one male to 4 females... but don’t quote me on that. I didn’t really look into it as I didn’t plan on keeping more than one...
