Crooked neck

Im sorry, but a Veterinarian cant just assume she is in great health if they don't test for the root cause if it. An external physical examination is about pointless to a wry neck. It could very well be a vitamin deficiency, or worse, so its unfair to say she's healthy and that it may or may not improve on it's own. Pleade continue (or start) Vitamin E at least
Wow, you think based on my description you know better then a trained professional Who took the time to thoroughly examine my pet, ask a lot of questions and give me several suggestions on how to care for my girls. so I guess I should ask where you got your medical training. I find your response unnecessary and implying I won’t take care of my pets. Wow just wow.

Im sorry you were offended and took my reply the wrong way. It wasnt my intentions. I was in no way implying that you wouldn't, nor don't, take care of your pets. I didnt say the vet didn't do a great job with a thorough examination. I worked at a veterinary hospital and my severe anxiety makes me very skeptical of professional opinions when only a physical examination is performed. I also know that unless the vet is an actual avian vet, they are more than likely not fully and properly educated in chicken health and/or care. Atleast not like an avian specialist would be. I would need "proof", so to speak, and not opinions or assumptions based on a physical. I would need labs, xrays, etc. (Or atleast more than a maybe.) It don't take a medical degree to not trust a diagnosis without scientific testing. But maybe im just skeptical, picky, and hard to please. Im the same way with myself and my children when it comes to opinions without testing. I only asked to please try vitamin e just incase, because you didnt mention the vets suggestions or care plan for your wry neck chick. What was the vets diagnosis? How did they suggest you treat the chick?

And I'm not sure coming to a public forum of "non medical professionals" looking for answers, advice, or opinions is a great idea if you are going to become offended and rudely defensive. There are thousands of life long chicken keepers and seasoned farmers here. Chances are we know a thing or two. Chances are we've seen it, know exactly what it is and why, and learned exactly how to treat it from experience and education through, and from, avian vets. "Medical training" in a sense..
