Crop issues need HELP!

That's really awesome that she's at least doing better and her crop is at least able to empty!! , you're doing an amazing job taking care of her!! , but yes what you're feeling most likley are some shavings so yes she needs surgery to remove them. The ducolax is probably helping buy mushing her crop contents up and alowing the slow passage thru... I whould consider finding a vet that will do it if possible, but if you must do this on you own then all I can say is your super brave and I hope your succesfull with this. I have also in the past looked at crop sugeries (utube) there scary but if I had to I whould, whould be nervous about it though, let me know how things go and wishing you luck!!

Thanks! My niece is a vet, about 4 hours away from me, and she said she will ask her boss if he will let her do the surgery for cost of materials only. Woohoo! So I will continue to care for her with great love until her surgery.

Ughhhh this morning my girl is right back to square 1. Her crop is super full, shes neck jerking and very listless. I'm at a loss. Im wondering if she has a pendulous crop. Should I redo epsom salt?

I looked online to buy one but theyre like $20

Ya I think I would try a regular sock! If you're like me I'm sure you have a few old ones kicking around with a hole in the toe lol. Cut the foot part off to use the elastic stretch leg part? With slits cut down the side for wings to go through. I can't imagine wrestling that onto a chicken though...probably need an extra set of hands. I would still try a treatment recommended in that article...maybe the baking soda one? I have never tried it but worth a shot at this point.
